The Tea Garden at Comrie Croft has been amazing. Now that chapter has closed, it is time to start a new one! With an ‘organic’ café open seven days a week through the season, that is a flagship for the awesome produce grown at the Croft and locally. One that marries remarkable flavour with the most responsible and viable ways of operating, and that develops the many additional exciting opportunities for local, well grown food and drink at the Croft.
The Job Opportunity
Lead the development and running of Comrie Croft's new café offer, with existing management support (General management, accounts, HR, marketing, etc). Develop new opportunities for in-house catering, meals for those employed and volunteering onsite, evening meals and breakfasts, integration with the farm shop and market garden, putting on ‘good food nation’ events, advocating for seasonal and local good food.

Key Targets and Responsibilities
Profitable seasonal café operations
Daily operations of the café, ensuring a high standard of food quality, customer service, hygiene and tidiness
Collaboration with Tomnah'a Market Garden, the Comrie Croft Farm Shop and other local suppliers to create a seasonal and sustainable menu that reflects our commitment to community and the environment
Café staff, including hiring, training, and providing support
Waste reduction through effective use of resources, promoting a circular economy approach
Financial records, including budgets, ordering, and stock control
Fostering a positive, inclusive work environment and ensure staff well-being
Compliance with environmental health and safety regulations
Planning and delivery of additional food and drink opportunities at Comrie Croft
Skills & Experience
Passion for sustainability, local food, and high-quality coffee (you’ve got a soft spot for both good food and the environment).
Previous experience in café or restaurant management (preferably in a similar environment).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, especially during peak times
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Ability to manage stock efficiently.
A hands-on approach and a positive, can-do attitude (you’ll roll up your sleeves and dive into any task that comes your way—whether it's brewing the perfect cup of coffee or answering customer questions about where the mountain bike trails lead).
You must be available to work every other weekend.
