Sustainable Weddings & Events Coordinator (part-time)

Are you a really hospitable person who loves organising?

We’re now looking for a part-time Sustainable Weddings Coordinator, working within a lovely team of three. Your mission: To assist couples to have the best possible wedding - full of love, laughter and meaning, while helping us make a positive difference to our environment and community.

What you’ll be doing

Helping develop the positive social and environmental impact of weddings

Offering genuine communication with couples, families and suppliers – through emails, phone calls, social media and in person

Being there on wedding days and evenings to help make sure everything runs smoothly (we don’t organise the weddings but are there to help in any way)

Attracting new couples for whom Comrie Croft is a good fit through social media, publicity, collaboration, word-of-mouth and more

Showing off the venue and excellent local suppliers through tours and open day events

Wedding admin - bookings, contracts, invoicing, payments - with care and attention to detail

Rolling up your sleeves when needed to support wider Croft events—like community markets, bike races, or other magical team moments where everyone pitches in to make great things happen!

You’ll be great for this role if you are

A true people person—warm, approachable, and kind.
Experienced in a similar role in the hospitality industry, preferably in weddings and events.
A brilliant communicator who enjoys making others feel heard and supported.
Super organised, resourceful, and calm under pressure.
Someone who takes pride in getting the details right.
Passionate about sustainability and community.
Happy juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities in a lively environment.
A proactive problem-solver who spots what needs doing and just gets it done.
Social media savvy and confident with admin tools.
In tune with Comrie Croft’s values of care for people, place, and planet.

Bonus skills (lovely but not essential)

Creative flair—copywriting, photography, video, design, or digital storytelling.
An eye for marketing or communications.
Entrepreneurial or business skills (analysis, spreadsheets, etc.).
Any other talents or passions that could add to life at the Croft.

Hours and flexibility

16–24 hours per week (to be agreed).
Flexibility is key—weddings usually happen at weekends, so you’ll work up to one weekend in two.
Some wedding days will mean later finishes (around 8pm, sometimes after midnight).

Farm-to-Fork Café Opportunity

Could you do awesome things with Comrie Croft's Gorse Café?

We are looking for someone to lead the Gorse Café team either as an employee, or to develop it as your own business to partner with us. What is important is, that your café management/food producing experience, vision and team-building skills are a great fit. 

Gorse was launched in May 2025, following on from the successful Tea Garden Café. In one steep learning curve, the Gorse team has established an excellent reputation for local provenance, the best specialty coffee and friendly service. It has become a flagship for the awesome produce grown at the Croft and for its waste-free approach. We are now looking for a wonderful person to lead the team into the next stage of sustainable success.

The Opportunity Brief:

- Consolidate a 5* reputation: the kind of place you'd return to again and again or recommend to friends

- Offer a simple and enticing menu to include breakfasts, lunches, cakes/pastries, soups, salads, and speciality coffee and drinks

- Open 7-days a week Apr-Oct and at least Fri-Sun over the winter

- Cater to a diverse market including hungry mountain bikers and campers, our local community, staff lunches, group catering, and more

- Put local provenance, seasonality, and regenerative practice to the fore, including the use of as much produce as possible from the onsite farm (Tomnaha Market Garden)

- Offer consistently excellent speciality coffee and other hot drinks

- Build an exceedingly friendly and helpful team and ongoing customer friendships

- Grow a profitable business. Opportunities for development include marketing and social media; menu and margin development; integration with the farm and farm shop; reform service style and efficiency

- Have fun and keep a level head while managing the weekly and seasonal busy-quiet extremes

 

Hours and flexibility

Full time hours (40h per week) in the busy season, potentially less in Winter.

Flexibility is key—our busiest days are usually weekends, so you’ll work up to one weekend in two.
